At the crossing of major road networks, the Pouilly en Auxois region is easily reached. This countryside of hills, meadows and streams is a veritable green haven, welcoming you to its rich heritage…


This is where the Burgundy Canal goes underground to cross from the Seine to the Rhone river basins.

Come aboard the excursion boat “La Billebaude” for a cruise under the 3333m underground passage’s vaults and along the locks. Visit Cap Canal, a site bridging past and modern times to let you discover, understand and admire the Burgundy Canal, with the Halle du Toueur, the Canal Institute (a museum and multi-media exhibition on the history, workings and memories of the Burgundy Canal) and the hydroelectric power station.


Walk or take a bicycle ride along the tow-paths or along the channels leading you to the five storage reservoirs…Enjoy a picnic, fish or swim at Panthier and Grosbois.


Explore the sites and monuments: Châteaux de Commarin, Châteauneuf-en-Auxois, et Eguilly…The medieval hillside village of Mont Saint Jean…Explore the villages, looking fro the churches and chapels, enjoy the panoramic view with its orientation table form the Saint-Etienne Monument above Créancey…
